Conference host Lucion Services are pleased to announce Hydrock’s Asbestos Manager, James Macfarlane as a workshop speaker at Asbestos The Truth 2017.
With over 10 years’ experience in the asbestos industry, James is a British Occupational Hygiene Society qualified asbestos surveyor and laboratory analyst. As Hydrock’s Asbestos Manager, James is responsible for designing resource efficient asbestos in soils remediation schemes. He has gained considerable experience working on both small and large scale asbestos in soils remediation projects throughout the UK, including providing technical and design support to clients such as EDF Energy, Carillion, VolkerFitzpatrick and Crossrail.
James has worked exclusively in the asbestos in soils remediation industry since 2010, providing technical advice, remediation design specifications and remediation methodologies. His work requires him to liaising directly with Environmental Health Officers and the Health and Safety Executive to agree reasoned and practical solution to problematic site including sensitive Part 2A projects. With this knowledge and experience, James has contributed significantly to the development of current legislative protocols and best practice documentation, including assisting in the development CIRIA’s Asbestos series of publications and the JIWG’s CAR-SOILS™.
His significant experience in the asbestos contaminated land industry is reflected in his being invited to speak at leading industry conferences run by CIRIA, Brownfield Briefing, Environmental protection UK and the West Midlands Geological Society on the subject of managing asbestos in soil.
